The purpose of this course was to provide students with basic knowledge of qualitative research methods and approaches. More specifically, the course introduced students to key qualitative research methods, and it provided students with tools for reflecting on their strengths and weaknesses, challenges and potentials. In this way, the students achieved the skills necessary for identifying the appropriate qualitative methods for specific topics of research enquiry. Students were also introduced to the basic elements of research design, to key research paradigms and to their ontological and epistemological underpinnings.
