Primary fields of research

Learning and teaching in sport, dance and movement focusing on embodied, aesthetic, creative and intercultural processes. Dance- and physical education theory, children and young people's corporeality and meaning-making in movement, videographic inquiry, phenomenologically and arts-based inspired research with children, embodiment theory and the role of the body in qualitative research processes.



Current research

  • “Arts-Integrated and Intercultural Learning Focusing on Sustainable Development in Cape Town and Copenhagen“ partly funded by ERASMUS + , the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces and the municipality of Copenhagen (from 2017-to present). 

  • “Empowering Student Teachers as Agents of Change in Cross-Sectorial Collaborations using The Cultural Schoolbag in Norway as a Learning Platform (pARTiciPED).” Strategic research project funded by the Research Council of Norway and led by the College in Østfold, Norway (project collaborator 2021-2023).
  • “Arts as Public Service: Strategic Steps towards Equality” (ArtsEqual) under the call for the Equality in Society Programme by the Strategic Research Council of the Academy of Finland (2015-2020). Project collaborator in the Arts@School sub-project.

  • Knowledge Production, Archives and Artistic Research: International Network Program  funded by the Danish Agency for Science, Techonolgy and Innovation. With Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, UCPH and University of Capetown, Department of Theatre and Dance (project partner 2016-2017).

  • Dance Learning in Motion: Global Dance Education (collaboration with researchers from USA, Canada and Australia) (2013-2017)
  • Learning through Movement - a research project of the Danish Ministry of Education (completed 2015).
