The physiological effects of small-sided team handball in young adults and overweight premenopausal women

Therese Hornstrup Bondebjerg

PhD thesis

New strategies for effective long-lasting exercise training programs are warranted in the prevention of lifestyle diseases. Team sports have found to be carrying positive psychosocial and motivational aspects that may promote adherence. The overall aim was, therefore, to investigate if team handball could provide positive physiological effects as proven in team sports as recreational football and floorball, since different types of physical activity may attract and motivate different people.
