Our distinguished speaker for this event is Associate Professor Jonathan Long from Stanford University. Dr. Long's talk has the title "Exercise, Lac-Phe and the chemical control of appetite and metabolism"

As an Associate Professor of Pathology and an Institute Scholar of Stanford ChEM-H (Chemistry, Engineering & Medicine for Human Health), Dr. Long's research focuses on signaling pathways in mammalian energy metabolism. His work holds large potential for uncovering new molecules and pathways that could lead to therapeutic opportunities for obesity, metabolic diseases, and other age-associated chronic conditions.

Dr. Jonathan has been recognized with numerous awards from esteemed organizations such as the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the American Diabetes Association, and the Ono Pharma Foundation. Prior to his tenure at Stanford, Dr. Long completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Scripps Research and conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School.
