Transforming burnout from breakdown to break through

Foredragsrækken "Coaching - forskning og praksis"

Tim Casserley

Organisations are becoming increasingly demanding; work more consuming and absorptive than ever before. The recession is magnifying this trend. Those who have kept their jobs are being asked to take on more. In particular, the organisation’s expectations of its ‘high potential’ leaders have increased substantially. Inevitably, the possibility of these leaders ‘losing the plot’ in the un-reflected pursuit of performance and ambition has never been more real. Recent events have shown us what happens when an organisation’s brightest and best go down this road.

Based on the research behind his recent book, Tim will discuss the causes of burnout and derailment among high potential leaders, and how to use personal crisis as a coaching opportunity for transformational learning and the development of sustainable leadership.
