Lone Friis Thing is born in 1964 and is Associate Professor at the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Master degree (Cand. scient.) in the areas Humanities and Social Sport Sciences and Biology including a PhD degree from Department of Sociology – all are undertaken at University of Copenhagen.
Lone Friis Thing is a researcher in health promotion and prevention in relation to sport and physical activity through the work with among others heart disease and life style (elderly) and innovative culture strategies for organizational changes in the Danish Upper Secondary School (youth).
She is Head of Studies for the graduate programmes at the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports and also for the master programme in ‘Sport and Welfare’ at the same location. She is also appointed external examiner at the sport science educations and within Public Health educations in Denmark.
She is head of the section "Sport, Individual & Society"
