Individual response and compliance within a Multi-Center Alcohol Trial (MCAT)
Multi-Center Alcohol Trial (MCAT) is a project on biomarker development for dietary trials supported by a prestigeous Semper Ardens grant from the Carlsberg Foundation.
The project will develop novel methods for assessing compliance in large human trials and investigate biochemical and cognitive effects of low level intakes of foods and drinks.
Monitoring and understanding short- and long-term effects of foods and drinks is an area causing many disputes in nutrition and methodologies to resolve these issues is an important basic science foundation for all nutrition research.
One of the targets of the research is resolution of the short- and medium-term effects of low-dose alcohol intake.
