I den anledning afholdes en tiltrædelsesforelæsning med titlen

Why do people become obese?

That may seem obvious – but from there on it gets complicated!

It is obvious why people gain weight – it’s all about a positive energy balance. But knowing that doesn’t really help.

Anders Sjödin will talk about his experience working with questions related to energy balance. From elite athletes struggling to eat enough in order to perform and stay healthy, to the challenges that most of us experience in today’s obesogenic environments. Why is it so hard to maintain one’s energy balance? We have for decades tried to come up with the perfect diet to fix this, but without success. It’s perhaps time to look elsewhere.

Anders Sjödin will also provide a perspective on where he believes we should be looking – now and in the future.
